In ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins I have Components, Digidesign, and VST folders but they're all empty. With mic plugged in (which used to work although im only 83 sure now, since the internal mic is so sensitive), there is no response when i select line-in. In /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins there are 4 folders and these files "Components/ponent" and "HAL/ugin". System preferences show two options for input - internal microphone or line in. Next, turn up the input volume and talk to the mic, see if there is any response in the input level.

I may just reload Windows from a Winclone image I made earlier or just completely reinstall Windows. First off, under sound setting of Mac OS system, make sure the microphone is the default input while the built-in speaker of Mac is the default out. I also tried Windows System Restore but that didn't help either. Oddly, if I boot my Boot Camp partition from Fusion, sound output is fine but the mic still does not work. So now all my audio is broken if I boot natively into Boot Camp.

I tried removing and reinstalling the drivers half a dozen times (even in Safe Mode) to no avail.

Then Ensoniq driver was installed so I tried to revert back to the original Creative Sound Blaster PCI drivers using the drivers on my MacBook's Mac OS X Install Disk 1 but then after rebooting both sound input and output were not working! In Device Manager there was a yellow exclamation next to PCI but there were 4-5 various audio drivers listed under "Sound, video and game controllers". answered by Samuel L.Unfortunately, when I booted from the Boot Camp partition the mic was not working but sound output was OK - just like when Boot Camp is booted from Fusion. The following are the examples of common Audio issues Mac users reported after upgrading to OS Sierra: Mac users get popping noise when playing video or audio. The following will help you fix OS Sierra audio, volume and sound not working issues. If Discord for Mac isn't picking up your mic even though it seems to be working in other apps, check this simple setting to make sure you didn't make the sam. Open System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. If this is still not working, you can try to reset the permissions of the other accounts on your machine. The OS Sierra audio not working is just one of the minor issues that Apple’s new OS X release has. Try reopening Wwise and adding the Audio Input plug-in again: the popup should prompt you to allow the Microphone.

The applications list in the Privacy panel for the Microphone permission should be empty following that command. You can try resetting the microphone permissions globally by running the following command in Terminal.app: If you are on a multi-account machine, make sure the permission is not granted on another user's account and that your user account has the permission to modify the privacy settings. I can confirm this behavior works as intended in 2019.1.11, which is the version used for the 301 course.

You will need an additional pre-amp or active mic (a microphone with phantom power will suffice).

The input you see is a 'line-in' input that requires more input signal level than a passive (non-powered) microphone can deliver. The privacy settings for Microphone must be requested by the application. Mac laptops have not supported a non-powered microphone input for years. Until this issue is resolved, the workaround is to launch Wwise directly from the Wwise tab in the Launcher or from Finder by double-clicking on Wwise.app. EDIT: An underlying issue resulting from launching Wwise with a project directly from the Launcher causes the Audio Input to crash Wwise on macOS.
